Richland High School is proud to boast an award winning Visual Arts Department. Starting in Eighth Grade, students are exposed to the visual arts and continue through an extensive curriculum in both Fine Art and Crafts. Multiple levels within each discipline focus on design, process, and production. Highlights include ceramics, painting, glass sculpture, drawing, jewelry, stained and fused glass, batik and printmaking. The department is also very proud of the Art Club which is actively involved in our local community through painting windows, art shows, and juried competitions. Visiting art museums, such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York or the Carnegie Museum in Pittsburgh, art students travel annually to experience great works of art from the beginning of time to the most contemporary.
